Jesus is the true Judgement Free Zone.

We are starting a new year so most of us will begin the resolutions quest we hope to keep throughout the year.

According to the data pulled from Google by iQuanti, these are the most popular New Year’s resolutions:

Read More: 4,746,560 searches, down 5.63 percent from last year’s 5,029,790.

I know the number one resolution on the list is the one most people start on. We see commercials telling us that need to be apart of one of their weight loss program.  In just a 7 or 10 days you will lose between 10-30 pounds. REALLY stop that foolishness. In 1 Corinthians 10:23 it says " All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not."  We have to be careful that we don't fall for the" I can do it in 10 days". You put it on overtime taking in off will be the same.  When setting a goal of a fast take off it will more likely not stay off and we find ourselves in the condemnation zone.

I mean you will put the Master plans together that we will lose 50 pounds by swimsuit season. You will work very hard and get the fat off. You will purchase fruits, vegetables and smoothie mixes. We will go on Youtube looking for everything on smoothies and how to make them.  We go to the gym. We start to good. We are faithful for a month until we notice some weight loss. You reward yourself with something you stop eating. Then you stop buying all fruit in bulk but you will buy a little at a time. Your taste buds want more than salads and fruit. You eat some of the foods once loved.  Self-condemnation comes into play as the scale is no longer moving in the direction we would like it to. You start to notice the slender people at the gym. The ones most likely who were slender from the start or have lost the weight months but you don't notice them. We now find ourselves in the judgement zone.

                                             JUDGEMENT ZONE

Judgement is two-fold. We judge ourselves according to the goals we set and we are judged according to a standard that man set for a group of people. The Judgement Zone is a dangerous zone. It goes from judging ourselves according to other to allowing others to judge us based on same or similar shortcomings. We need to be careful not judge ourselves so harshly. Self-condemnation is the worse condemnation because it is you condemning you. When we condemn ourselves we will find ourselves in some uncomfortable position that only heaven can help. The perfect example is the woman that is caught in the act of adultery. This woman was in the Judgement Zone.

In John chapter 8 there was a couple caught in the act of adultery. She may have been married or the guy, either way, they were caught in the act of adultery and they bring her before Jesus. The crowd or the men brought her to judgement. They brought her to be condemned by Jesus. She is standing in the middle of the temple waiting for her judgement.  Jesus kneeled. I believe  Jesus does that for us. In Romans 8:34  it says "Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us." While other people are standing around judging us Jesus, the bridegroom is kneeling before the bride asking for acceptance. The acceptance of his ring upon our finger. Accepting the role as the bride to the bridegroom in the kingdom of God. Knowing that no matter what happened he's  always going to be there for us always. That even when we fall down he is on the ground with us let us know that we can get back up again.
Jesus stood before the people who were trying to condemn not just the woman but him as well. Jesus gives them the best reply to judgment. He asked, "He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her" John 8: 7.  Women have either had stones cast at them or casting the stones at themselves. Since the Garden of Eden, womankind has borne the burden of the fruit from the tree. As God asked in Genesis 3:11 "Who told thee that thou wast naked?"  Jesus asked a question that needs an answer. They brought the condemned to the Redeemer. Salvation was on the way. One by one they left because sin can't justify sin. And then there was two.

                                           Jesus the Judgement Free Zone

She's  before the Living God. The living God is kneeling before her. He stood and asked: "Where your accusers" John 8:10a.  Jesus was now going to deal with the real issue. The sin of self. We condemn ourselves way too much. We have enough people more than willing to knock us down a peg without you joining in too. Jesus question is profound because she is still feeling condemned even though her accusers are gone and she knows it. She sees no one. Her self-loathing and shame is so real that she can't let it go. We do the same thing. God frees us with salvation but we don't let go. God forgives and forgets, we just forgive (and something we don't do that).  God isn't judging us because we gained some weight, you didn't go the direct path he has for us, you didn't take the courses you needed the last semester or you did not get out of that bad relationship. No, God isn't judging us he is bringing us something that not even man can't give us. Salvation. The last statement of Jesus to her was "Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more John 10b."  Jesus gives her the present of salvation. Salvation isn't just a prayer it's a lifestyle. Salvation is something we have to practice every day. Salvation is freedom and freedom starts in the mind and is worked outwardly.
                                                                Joy

January is beginning and instead of looking for ways of trying to do a resolution why don't you take this month to live in joy. Joy back in the day meant Jesus Over You, well do that for the month. Have Jesus over your everyday. If losing weight is your goal this year then do it slowly and with direction from the Holy Spirit.  Get a journal and write your eating and drink habits for a month. Then compare your biggest calories and begin to eliminate them one at a time. Slowly get your body adjusted to your new lifestyle. That way you are in control without having to worry about bingeing.

If you have not exercised in months or years take it on slowly. Don't go to the gym thinking you are going to do a 60 minutes high-intensity workout. You should maybe think about getting a  trainer or begin with the treadmill or stationary bike. Work your way up. If a gym is a too much workout at home. The internet and even on cable networks there are free work-outs. You can do them in your home with no one around. You don't ever have to buy equipment with some of them.

Jesus started a transformation with a gift of freedom from sin if we choose to sin no more. The transformation has to begin with the mind in order for it to have a hold on us.We have to begin to relate to God in such a way that we become the daughters that he has created us to be.  We are made in the image of God and knowing this we are never less than. We are image bearers.  We need to be very clear that we walk in that image. Not a fleshly one but in the spiritual one. So, my sisters, I ask you in January that you seek out joy constantly and on purpose.

Stop judging and start to joy your life.
