*Disclaimer: Everyone's mother doesn't fit this mother but you have someone in your life that does *

As we are coming upon Mother's Day I would like to ask of my sisters  a favor.  Can you have mercy on your mother? She was the superwoman of your world when you were younger. She was your total source. Your first teacher, cheerleader, supporter, protector and punisher. No matter the situation she was there for us. We were so in love with her and her word were gospel to us. We honored her then.

Then changes happened. We had  a life apart from her. We made friends and then boyfriends and she then became your worst enemy. She went from being our  best friend to enemy number 1. When she speaks we only hear criticism not a concern. When we wanted to have fun hangout with the wrong crowd, we called her mean and a pest. I wish she would stay out of my life would come out of our mouths. We disrespect the source.

Then life moves us away, and she is an everyday thought but no calls to her though. You know when you can call she will be there. She is excited about all the wonderful things happening in your life. The degree you earned, the new job and the new apartment that puts a greater distance between the both of you.  You are making moves she could only dream of in her day. You are self supporting not relying on noone and that makes her heart glad.

Married with children, then you realize that woman was  a woman. Yes she was your shero when you were a kid but she was a woman. A woman that taught you to walk and talk. A woman that taught you to get up when you fell down and hug you when the hurt was too much. She was not perfect, but she was your mother. Have so mercy on her.

Life have not always been the best to her. She has fight wars you know nothing about. There has battle scar you have not and will never see. Crying, praying and fasting for you. She has been the lioness against those who would try to come for you. Did she do everything right no, but she tried? Regrets she has, disappointments she has and broken promises she made but show mercy.

Mother's Day is on Sunday, please take a moment to say Thank you for all she has done and hasn't.  The rest of the year have mercy on your mom and remember life is about a turn back. You may one day be the shero to your own daughter or maybe your mother.

God Equals Mercy

May 02, 2018 0 Comments
The month of May will stand for mercy. Mercy is a word that fits this month. In this month we have Mother's Day. The second Sunday in May is to show our appreciation for their sacrifices. They will receive candies, cards and flowers. Some mothers will go out for dinner or a nice home-cooked meal by their kids. This is done because our mothers have a sometime or another show mercy when it was not warranted. They could have punished us for talking back, not obeying the house rule but they didn't. They showed us mercy.  This is the same way God shows mercy towards us daily.
The word mercy meaning is compassion or forgiveness shown toward someone whom it is within one's power to punish or harm. God shows his mercy daily. I can't think of the number of times when I know God could say I am done with this child of mine. Instead, he shows his love for me by not punishing me but blessing me to grow. He had mercy on me so I can be more like him and less like myself.
In Psalms 85:10  it says  "Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other." We are surrounded by the virtues and characteristics of God. His mercy is one I love so much. I am like King David who speaks of God's mercy in the book of Psalm 99 times.  He understood God's mercy towards him.  Anointed king at age 13 but didn't become king until he was  35. Mercy was with him.   David had enemies and frienemies that wanted him dead. They saw who he was, and that was a threat.
Some of us can understand David's plot. He was a man chasing God as people were chased him. We all have a purpose and that means that everyone will not like. That means people will chase us to hinder or stop us from pursuing what God has called you for. Don't stop keep going when they say you can't or you shouldn't.  The Lord says you got it and I have friends to help you.
Maybe you don't know where to go for mercy scriptures that will see you through. I will give you a few below.  Like medicine use them when needed.
Mercy in times of trouble:" Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness: thou hast enlarged me when I was in distress; have mercy upon me and hear my prayer." Psalms 4:1
Mercy when sick: Have mercy upon me, O Lord; for I am weak: O Lord, heal me; for my bones are vexed. Ps. 6:2

Mercy when enemies: He shall send from heaven, and save me from the reproach of him that would swallow me up. Selah. God shall send forth his mercy and his truth. Psalm 57:3
God is a keeper: He shall abide before God for ever: O prepare mercy and truth, which may preserve him. Psalm 61:7
God is for all: For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive, and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee. Psalm. 86:5
These are just a few of all the ways God's mercies shows up for us. JUst one more. My favourite Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life:  Psalm 23:6. Goodness and mercy are with us every day. Not only when It's sunny outside. No, every day they show you. They show up and follow us. They got our back. We got God above us. Jesus blood over us the Holy Spirit living in us and the goodness and mercy behind us what else do we need. We receive them daily you know?

We don't get leftover mercies. No, each morning they are new. Walk out your purpose God equals Mercy

Acceptance requires change

April 11, 2018 0 Comments

This week I will talk about a familiar prayer. Serenity Prayer. This prayer is used by People in AA. The prayer is short but profound. The three sentences convey three messages that work together. They sum up what we should pray daily. I will use this prayer for us to learn acceptance requires change.

The first sentence says 'God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change".  I love the place of this sentence in the prayer. The first sentence the author asks God to grant him something. He asked for serenity. Serenity means, the state of being calm, peaceful and untroubled. That is deep. I mean you ask God to allow you to be calm, peaceful and untroubled. But from what? To accept the things I cannot change. He didn't ask God for money, fame or for God to hurt the people that hurt him. No, he wants to be untroubled about accepting change.

The word accept means to consent to receive. We must be calm to consent to receive the things we can't change (alter). We can't change others. Our families, the neighbourhood in which we grow up in, the elementary and high school we went to. The Ministers or Pastors that guided our former years in the church. The Co-workers and managers we worked with. These people are things we couldn't change because they were placed in your lives. These people opinions of us at the times may be harsh. It may not just be verbal but also physical. As this may be true we can't change those situations or circumstances. We need to be calm, peaceful and untroubled to accept (consent to receive) what we can't change (alter). We can't change the past behaviour of others in our lives. All we can do is accept that it has happened and not allow it to be our future.

The second sentences say "Courage to change the things I can". Now the second sentences he places the responsibility on himself for his change. He asks for courage to change the things he can. We all need courage (brave) and begin the process of changing (altering) ourselves. We must change. In the word of God, it tells us we are to be transformed Romans 12:2. Transformation only happens when we are ready.  We must give up your old self for a new and improve version.

If you want to change you, first change the way you feel, talk and see yourself. The person who hurts us the most is us. We feel bad about things we did or didn't do and instead of taking responsibility we make excuses why nothing is working out. Change requires accepting responsibility.   We see ourselves as overweight but continue to eat our feelings of past hurts and pains and expect to lose weight. It will not happen. We must accept the pain of our past, receive change (alter) to live the life we want.

The last sentences say "Wisdom to know the difference". This is three sentences and so important. If we lack wisdom (experience) we are in trouble. We need to be clear on the difference between their stuff and our stuff. Without this wisdom, we will repeat  the same cycle.
Wisdom means the quality of having experience, knowledge and good judgement, the quality of being wise. The wisdom factor looks like this. Your stuff is the things you think about ourselves that we don't tell their people. Example " I need to shed a few pounds so I can look better in my clothes.  Their stuff is their opinion about who you are or have been or will be.  Example, " I notice you have put on some weight lately. Don't get mad about it you were always chunky. Being big isnt so bad plus you have a pretty face  "

As we accept the things we can't change and the things we can our lives will get better. Like the people in AA that are learning to live in sobriety, we must do the same. We must stop being intoxicated with pass hurts and pains and work to be alert to see our future. We can live a calm life just accept it.
I hope you like the following prayer:

Acceptance vs Tolerance, How you living?

April 04, 2018 0 Comments
The month of April we will go deeper into the life we desire. In order for this to accord, we will need to address issues. I wrote a book entitled "Know Your Crazy, Accept Your Crazy". This book is my personal craziness. As self-claimed ex-rageaholic, I would get angry at anyone and everything.  Raging at everyone that got in my way. My behaviour may have been tolerated by people but not accepted.

Tolerance is not a way of life

Tolerance means as the ability or willingness to tolerate something, in particular, the existence of opinions or behavior that one does not necessarily agree with.  Tolerance should not be the way we live our lives. Tolerating people opinions can lead to problems that will have lifelong implications. If you don't pay attention, you will live intolerance for years with no end and no peace in sight. I have a story about tolerance. This is what tolerance looks like we don't listen to common sense.

There was a young man that lived in my neighbourhood. He would hang out on the corner day after day. He was about 16 years old and not in school. One day a few of his friends and him decided they would steal from the corner store. What they did not know was that the store owner had a gun and was not afraid to use it. The young man got shot in the calf part of his leg. Instead of going to the hospital he listened to his friends that told him to go home. They said if he went to the hospital he would have to explain the gunshot. He went home and put bandages on the wound. He never went to the doctor.

After a while, he walked with a limp. He lost movement in the lower part of his leg. He got to where he couldn't run anymore. A year later this young man lost his lower right leg. The nerves and muscles in his leg got infected by the year of neglect. The calf can't be restored. His leg had succumbed to gangrene. He is now in a wheelchair. This is what tolerance looks like, Open wounds.

                              Acceptance is a better way

The word acceptance means as the action of consenting to receive or undertake something offered. This The young man's life would be different if he lived in acceptance. If he hadn't tried to steal from the store, he would still have his leg. If he had gone to the hospital instead of listening to his friends. If he didn't tolerate the pain from the gunshot. If he had told his family members. His life is now a bunch of want ifs. One different action would change his outcome.

Acceptance requires us to decide. It requires knowledge of the direction we wish to go. We can't and shouldn't be walking around with open wounds from past hurts. Our a Physician that is capable of healing us. He came to give life, and that life is to be lived abundantly. Wounds are not a part of that. We must move away from tolerance and begin the journey to acceptance.

                                      Start the journey

This journey will require soul-searching. You will need to take a long look at your life and see the areas where you are tolerating.

1.Is your life right now free from depression and anxiety or the direct opposite?

2.Do you feel like everyone is living their dream life and you are just suffering through yours?

If that is you then you need to reevaluate your life.

1.What issues are open wounds that need immediate attention?

2.Can you find help or do you need help?

3.Do you a family member or friend that will not judge but help you push through no matter what you say?

I'm asking you my sisters and brother's to stop tolerating wounds as badges of honour and start getting them closed up.God doesn't require war wounds in order to get into the kingdom so stop having them, Acceptance has to be your goal. Get ready to move things around. Expect change. Once you begin to accept things as they really are some people will not want to be around you. That is fine. Get to know new people that will advance your life for the better. Once you start down the path of acceptance you will feel better and be better for yourself and everyone else around you.

Quarterly Recap

March 27, 2018 0 Comments

The month of March ends in just a few days. We made it through the Winter and Spring is at hand. Goodbye coats, gloves and hats.No more snow and shovelling out.Hello, Spring showers and flowers and long warm days.

If you are a Christian, you know we are in the holiness week of the year.  Last Sunday was Palm Sunday, Friday is Good Friday and Sunday coming is Easter. With, all of this going on  March has been a busy month. The saying for   March has been  it  will either come  as a lamb and leave out like a lion or vice versa. March for me has been a lion all month long. I need a break. As we  go into the second quarter of the year, I would like to do a recap of the first quarter of My Crazy Is Real.

I blogged in January and it has been a joy. I find that I am excited about every post and I pray that they are helping you. Each month has a theme word. January stood for joy.  Joy must be a part of our lives.  Jesus is your Judgement Free Zone. That should bring us joy. The love of God that turns our woes into joy. I am still wondering if you were a joy seeker, a joy chaser or in joy.

In February I blog about fear and freedom. We can never be free if we walk in fear. Fear can be a purpose killer or a liberator. Fear does not have to keep us paralyzed but we can and should walk free in the liberty we have in Christ.  We can free ourselves by learning to give it all to Jesus. Once  free,  say goodbye to fear and hello freedom.

March we started moving forward. With purpose in mind, nothing will stop us. Some of us are ready to soar. As eagles, we are flying high. You may want everyone to come but that is not possible. Some of us are chickens. Chickens have to stay on the ground because they have the groundwork to do. Moving forward is difficult if  we are looking behind at what was. We need a strong foundation. I blog about the ABC's of moving forward. If your foundation is weak or unstable, you will fail. When we are on solid ground, we can walk tall and strong.

The month of April will stand for Acceptance.  I will go deeper into knowing yourself and learning to accept yourself. We are going higher my sisters. I hope you are ready for it.

The ABC's of moving forward

March 21, 2018 0 Comments

In order for you to move ahead in your life's purpose, you have found what that entails. I mean can you move forward without a plan. What about having goals? What about being accountable to yourself or have someone else do it for you? No CEO of a major corporation, a General from any of the armed forces or mom will go out into the world without at least a plan for their daily, or weekly tasks. We must have our ABC together.

                                                  Moving

The first word is moving. Moving means as in motion. I know some of you are saying, Well Duh but are you moving? Are you operating in your gift or just waiting? Gifts come without repents. Our gifts are given at birth and how and when we use them are up to us. To operate or move requires knowing the basics.
Cynthia's ABC of moving  are:

A) Trust  God - the scriptures that most represent Trusting God are my all-time favourite is Proverbs 3:5-6. When we trust God for the big and the little in your lives and not in what we think we can get more accomplished. Trusting God is establishing your faith in him. If we don't trust (rely, depend on) God we will continue to miss the mark. We will repeat the tasks again. When we think we know what to do we need to pray and make sure it lines up with the will of God. Are you going to be the navigator, the driver or a passenger in Gods car? Which one are you?

B) Motion- Once you establish trust you can now get in motion. Move into the areas of where your gift is needed. There is always a need. Let's say you are a seamstress but you haven't figured out how to use your gift.  Go to the local high school or a nursing home and give a free lesson. You will help others that may want to learn and grow their gifts.  Get up and not wait for someone else to tell you what to do. God is already directing you so get in motion.

C) Faith to Faith -While in motion you go from faith to faith. Faith to faith is you become faithful on one level with God and you then move to the next level. Your faith is growing closer to your God-given purpose and away from your personal agenda. Faith can't be changed to what we want. Faith is our learning and living God's will so we can give the best to the world.
Most of us would like to hit the ground running but it takes time to move ahead on purpose. Beware of the pitfall of rushing. If you move too swiftly, you can fall or cause someone else to fall.  Doubt and worry are others tools that will try to stop you. Reminded yourself of your foundation, Trust God.

                                                Forward
Now we are moving let's make sure we are going in the right direction, Forward. We may get tempted to go back and seat down but onward my Christian sister's soldiers.

A) Onward - meaning to be in a continuing forward direction. While you are going onward it is only one way.  To live a life in purpose, you have to be onward in everything you do. You can't be on the sidelines expecting greatness.  You have to keep going. The path is before you and your feet must be on it.

B) Make Progress- You need to show progress along the way. To do this, you should make goals and plans. One of the newest goal setters or planners is a vision board. That is a great idea. You will need to collect magazines and newspapers. Then get a large piece of construction paper. Cut out pictures and words that represent the things you want to achieve and how you see yourself in the short and long term. Paste them on the board. Hang it up somewhere you will see it daily. This will motivate you to keep making progress. Most people hold vision board parties but you can do it on your own.

I also would suggest that you write out the goals you want to achieve on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. You should have goals of reading at least 30 minutes a day. Whether that on business, inspiration or just for fun. Take time away from the Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. Get away from the television and give your mind a good surge of knowledge.

Make quarterly and yearly action steps. Make yourself accountable to  God. If you need another person to help you with accountability, find a strong friend willing to pray and watch your progress. Someone that will not pat you on the back but will push you. If you don't have that then look into a life coach or mentor.

C) Successful Conclusion- the successful conclusion is not at your death. Your success is when you complete your goals or plans. When you have helped transformed someone life and you get a thank you. When you are moving forward in the will of God. Success will not always come in a monetary form. It will show up as a grateful child realizing that you were not mean but loving. It comes when the people at your job respects your choices and will not disrespect you.

When people see you as who you are now and not when you were back then, that is a success. Trust God that as you move forward in faith, you will grow. You will walk onward and not look back. Progress will be seen and you will have success in all areas of your life.

I hope that these ABC'S will be a roadmap for you. Will it be easy? Well, that counts on You.

Do your ground work

March 14, 2018 0 Comments

The last blog I talked about moving forward. I was referring the eagle and soaring as us completing our purposes. My last thought was if you are a chicken there was groundwork to do. To do any work in the kingdom, we must know our position. Without that knowledge failure is definite.

Once you ask God what it is, you are to do, and he tells you, now you can begin your work. Your groundwork is the daily preparation you do to get ready for our purpose.  To do work, you first must be grounded in the word of God.

How can you say you represent him and you don't know him?

The word of God has to become your source of everything. No word no power. The devil and his minions will beat you down if you don't have the power of a word. That power is the word of God backed up with the Holy Spirit. Don't believe go read in Acts 1:13-17 about the sevens sons of Sceva. Power of the word is deliverance and victory. You will not be about to succeed in your position with power and pray.

Please do not take prayer lightly. Prayer establishes of your faith. Reach heaven for yourself. Your prayer life has to be just as important as the word. Prayer is your gateway to God and his way of asking you. Jesus was clear on what we need to do. In, Matthew 7:7-8 he says. "Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened."Jesus did not tell us to call the Pastor or the head of the intercessory ministry, no you ask.

Once the word is in use, you can walk out your purpose. Now to walk in purpose is not always calling attention to it or tell anyone. Most of the time it is you learning what your purpose is. Learn what is and what is not for you. Everyone calling on the name of Jesus doesn't need or should be apart from your purpose. You will learn what works for you. Trust the process. Seek the guiding voice of God. The process will not be quick. Grow into it. No one in the Bible grown and walked purpose in a day. It takes time. Sometimes it less than a year. Others it can take many years. I mean like at David. He was anointed to be king at 13 but did not become King until he was  33. Don't rush. Stay in the process, learn from the process and grow through the process learn.
